Hanasakiyama Brewery

Hanasakiyama Brewery

Go beyond traditional distribution channels to deliver the appeal of Doburoku

Doburoku Hanasakisan, produced at the Hanasakisan Brewery in Yokoze, Saitama, is a raw sake that is not pasteurized.
Because it ferments even under refrigeration, it was only sold in limited places in Yokoze.
In order to further expand the appeal of this sake, TIS implemented a POC to distribute the product using tokens.

Issued voucher tokens, which are entitled to receive Doburoku Hanasakayama, which can also be distributed secondarily.
Token holders can receive frozen doburoku in exchange for the tokens and can obtain alcohol that is not normally distributed.
In addition, a limited design label with original artwork incorporating the symbols of Yokoze town was created to give the limited distribution product a special touch.

The use of tokens enables distribution in a frozen and guarantees quality, as the token holder and the manufacturer communicate directly with each other. It also makes it possible to deliver value beyond the conventional scope of distribution.

Yonetsuru Brewery
(SAKEX co-creation case study)

Delivering special experiences from a traditional sake brewery with exceptional products

The Yonetsuru Sake Brewery has been operating in Takahata-cho, Higashioki-gun, Yamagata Prefecture for more than 300 years and has won more than 180 awards at numerous sake competitions.
However, the number of sake breweries producing sake in Japan continues to decline due to competition from other alcoholic beverages and a decline in drinking among young people.

In order to continue to protect and deliver a valuable gem in this situation, TIS and SAKEX are launching a project to visit local communities and create sake breweries and local fans with sake as a starting point.

Special experience tokens are sold in conjunction with Yonetsuru Shuzo’s sake “Kissui”. Purchasers can enjoy the sake at home and then use the token as a ticket to an exclusive event.
They can then take part in an exclusive event with the token as their ticket.
The event features a makers' dinner where the participants can enjoy the course meal of local Yamagata produce and a “Hatsu Shibori special edition” sake, which is only available that day, while discussing the Yonetsuru Sake Brewery and the appeal of sake. After participating in the event, fans are issued with a fan certificate token with a map design showing the features of Takahata-cho, in an effort to encourage fans to take an interest in the region itself.
This helps to build an ongoing relationship with the product and the region.

Tokenization allows breweries to expand new sales channels and consumers to experience a premium experience and new purchases that increase their attachment to the product.
